GCFS presents, ‘Essence’, our 2025 show in aid of CHAS.
GCFS is thrilled to announce our 2025 show, Essence, in partnership with our sponsors, Selective Personnel. The show will take place on the 1st of March 2025 at the iconic Old Fruitmarket in Merchant City.
Essence will be GCFS’ 11th show, and will be the biggest event of our year long campaign in aid of our wonderful charitable partner Children’s Hospices Across Scotland, whom you can read more about on the Charitable Partner page of our website. The show is open to anyone and everyone and is the party of the season! It’s the perfect excuse to get dressed up with your friends and enjoy the glitz and glamour of one of Glasgow’s biggest student led events, and all in the name of a good cause.
For the first time, the show will feature three different ticket packages, including the brand new VIP Platinum Package, as well as the classic VIP and Standard tickets. Both VIP packages will be launching on Sunday the 22nd of December at 8pm on Fixr, while Standard tickets will launch in January, with more information on the date coming soon.
This is also the first time that our VIP tickets will be launching on Fixr, whereas in the past they were available through a ballot process. This means you no longer have to organise your tickets within groups and sales will operate as with any other event sold through Fixr.

Please note that all packages offer a standing only viewing area for the main show, with no seated viewing, although there will be seats in bar areas that can be accessed at any point. *Please note that GCFS uses a charitably increased booking fee on Fixr of 10% of the ticket cost, half of which goes directly to our charitable partner as a donation, while the other half goes to Fixr for their services. However, given the higher price point of the VIP packages, and so to ensure the total cost to guests is more reflective of a traditional 5% booking fee, the base ticket price of VIP tickets on Fixr are lower than the actual value of the ticket. The true value of the tickets are £50 for Platinum VIP and £45 for VIP, while they are listed on Fixr for a lowered base value of £48 and £43 respectively. Therefore, when added onto this lower base fee, the higher booking fee of 10% brings the overall price into alignment with the accurate value of the tickets, plus a traditional 5% booking fee. This means we are able to donate the full true value price of the ticket to the charity, while ensuring our guests are not paying inflated rates.
Accessibility Information
We at GCFS want to ensure a positive experience for all guests attending the show and so are committed to reasonably accommodating all accessibility requirements to the best of our ability. All necessary accommodations should be emailed to accessibility@gcfs.co.uk as soon as possible. You should receive a response within 3-4 working days. This includes guests of all ticket packages, and we encourage those planning to buy standard tickets who will need accommodations to also message prior to standard launch. When emailing, please detail the accommodations required, including what accessible seating is needed. This email is monitored by essential team members only and information will be kept securely.
It is crucial to note that any accommodations that are not arranged with GCFS prior to the show may not be possible to implement on the day of the event.
The Old Fruitmarket is an accessible venue with disabled bathroom and lift, and accessible seating can be arranged during the show. It is important to note that there is no seated viewing for the show itself outside of accessibility seating, so any guest attending who would be unable to stand for the two segments of the main catwalk show, approximately 40 minutes each, should email GCFS regarding arranging accessible seating.
While there is no seating in the main room from which VIP and standard ticket holders will be watching the show, there is seating in the downstairs bar which will be accessible throughout the night. There is also seating within the upstairs bar which will be accessible to VIP and Platinum ticket holders during the pre show, and to Platinum ticket holders throughout the rest of the evening.
Please also note that loud music, bright stage lighting and flash photography will be in use throughout the venue during the event.
