ABOUT US

Founded in 2014, Glasgow Charity Fashion Show is now Glasgow’s largest student fundraiser. With a founding mission to support and uplift local charities and organisations in the Glasgow area, GCFS proudly partners with a new charity each academic year. Charities are nominated by the public and voted for by the GCFS committee, with the aim to support a varied range of organisations that reflect the diverse communities at the heart of Glasgow.

In past years, our charitable partners have included Impact Arts, Glasgow Clyde and Rape Crisis and Refuweegee. As the society has grown, so too has our achievements and our ability to enhance the fantastic work of our charitable partners. In the 2023/24 academic year, the GCFS team raised an incredible £47,511.14 for Impact Arts, raising the record total from the previous £44,005.20 raised for Glasgow Clyde and Rape Crisis in 2022/23. Describing the value of this donation, Impact Arts said:

‘With this generous donation, it will help us to expand our reach, offering more programmes and engaging with more individuals of all ages, from children to the elderly, fostering creativity and boosting mental health and well-being’.

This fundraising impact would not be possible without the Glasgow-wide team of passionate student volunteers who organise it all. From our executive team, to the committee, models and brand ambassadors, each member of the team plays a vital role in our fundraising efforts throughout the year, which culminate in the fashion show itself. A true celebration of the city, this show is both the largest fundraising event for the charity, and an ode to Glasgow’s vibrant creative cultural scene. As the show brings together Glasgow-based creatives, students, charity representatives, friends and family, it raises money while platforming the work of local fashion students and Scottish designers. Past designers have included Hairy Mary, Maison Charlemange and Pure Barkin.
